Matters arising from last meeting

Events Centre

Events centre costs $4500+GST per day. ($5062.50) Have to book 18 months in advance and still chance of Wellington Basketball displacing us. Possibly borrow space from Basketball?

A grade job description

Not done.

Hat tournament

Adrian is away. Shane reporting — Adrian has had difficulty getting council grounds. Shane has looked into school fields, but cricket season will probably rule out school fields.

Discuss further with Adrian when he returns.

Still waiting for Dave to produce sample dseigns.

Putting money into term deposit

Steve has a brochure from Westpac but has not looked at it yet. Steve to read brochure and email survey the list. Exec to sign off on one decision at the next meeting.

T-shirt grant application

T-shirt grant application has been sent to NZ Community Trust.

Financials

AGM

Steve to prepare a presentation which he will outline at the next exec meeting, and then deliver at the AGM.

Switching banks

Martin proposes switching banks to Kiwibank because Kiwibank invests its money in New Zealand, whereas multinational banks may invest overseas, and may invest in ecologically or ethically reprehensible practices.

Exec considers this to be a matter for the AGM.

Stopping statements

Steve proposes asking Westpac to stop our bank statements. Exec thinks paper copies are still useful as a record for other people, next exec, et cetera.

Leanne motions that we keep getting bank statements and the treasurer attaches them to his/her transaction lists.

Business / Correspondence

A grade

Considering backing out of our decision to go to single-sex. Exec decides to talk to captains, get captains to talk to their teams. John to email captains.

AGM

What happens if it rains? — If the games are cancelled, the AGM will be at Bar Edward at 6.30pm.

Have to invite social players too.

John to send out an email.

ExecPac™

Leanne has produced some role descriptions, job requirements, and example exec meeting plans for the next exec.

Massey Wellington clubs day

Massey Wellington has invited us to run a stall at clubs day, as part of their orientation week. VUWFDC will not do it out of self-interest because Massey Wellington students are not elligible to play for Team Vic at uni games. Steve suggests paying a student $50 to run the stall. Martin to ask his club members for expressions of interest.
